Nature Adventure Summer Camps

Immerse your child in the healthy nourishment of nature connection while they have the time of their lives at our unique and engaging summer camps! 

We’ve offered our popular summer day camps for children, on Salt Spring Island, since 2005. All camps are for both girls and boys.

Art of Mentoring Overnight Camp: August 12-18, 2018 (all ages family camp)

The Art of Mentoring is a family-oriented camp that has youth programs for all ages. Children 15 and under must attend with a parent or guardian (unless with prior arrangement). Teens 16 and up may attend on their own.

Learn ancient survival skills and how to thrive in the wilderness! Explore the natural world through super fun nature-based and hands-on activities, and exciting adventures with friends!

Heed the call of the wild, learn the 5 Essentials of Survival, develop your skills, connect deeply with nature, forge strong community, and develop self-awareness and confidence, all while having tons of fun! This camp is suitable for kids who are new to our programs as well as kids who have worked with us for years. Highly skilled mentors bring these ancient practices to life with passion and enthusiasm, since really help the young to enjoy life more and be able to have a better life and feel better, similar to the techniques used in treatment centers for depressed teenagers.

Way of the Wild Scout Camp

AGES: 8 – 14 years

Learn the amazing skills of the ancient scouts, who were often the eyes and ears of the village. Practice stealth and camouflage, travel unseen among the shadows, learn the language of the forest and how to blend into the landscape to get close to animals and birds. 

Heed the call of the wild, develop your skills, connect deeply with nature, forge new friendships, and develop self-awareness and confidence, all while having tons of fun! Suitable for kids who are new to our programs as well as kids who have worked with us for years. Highly skilled mentors bring these ancient practices to life with passion and enthusiasm!

    Summer Nature Camp!

Art of Mentoring Overnight Camp for Children and Teens

AGES: Programs for all ages. Youth under 16 must attend this family-oriented camp with a parent. 

DATES: Sunday August 12 through Saturday August 18, 2018

COST: Cost includes camping and facility use, all programming including teen backpacking trip, delicious organic meals and snacks. 

Teens (ages 13-17): $675 plus GST

Youth (ages 7-12): $545 plus GST

Child (ages 4-6): $435 plus GST

LOCATION: Mount Tuam Retreat Centre, Salt Spring Island, BC

The Art of Mentoring Youth and Children’s programs run concurrently with the adult programming at this community-oriented gathering. Enjoy this transformational week together as a family.

The Art of Mentoring TEEN Program is designed to immerse teens in wilderness living, community, and adventure. Guided by experienced nature connection mentors, the teens will connect more deeply to the natural world, their peers and themselves through daily activities including primitive skills, tracking, awareness games, scout skills, team building, etc.

The week for teens will culminate with overnight backpack trip leaving from the Art of Mentoring base camp and heading out into the wild and back again. Teens 16 and up may attend the Art of Mentoring without parents; younger teens are asked to attend with a parent or accompanying adult, except by special permission. Summer Camp 2018 Registration and Payment

Please complete BOTH parts of the registration to be fully registered:

1) COMPLETE the ONLINE REGISTRATION FORM if you have not already done so. One for each child. 2) COMPLETE PAYMENT at the bottom, using the shopping cart. Add the name of who it is for in the notes section of the payment. Payment is via PAYPAL (Paypal account, bank account or credit card) or Etransfer. For PAYPAL, just click all the way through the shopping cart. For ETRANSFER (you must include 5% GST), send to info@wisdomoftheearth.ca. Email ingrid@wisdomoftheearth.ca for alternate payment plans. All prices are in Canadian dollars. 5% GST will be added at check-out for Paypal, and must be included for Etransfer.

Cancellation Policy:

Wisdom of the Earth Wilderness School has implemented this cancellation policy based on the time, resources, deposits (based on numbers), and staffing that goes into planning and facilitating programs. Cancellations and transfers to other programs cost us time and money, and can prevent others from attending. If you cancel for any reason: • Cancellations and transfers made 21 or more days before the first day of the summer day camp will receive a full refund, less $50 administrative fee (per family). • Cancellations and transfers made 10-20 days before the first day of the summer day camp will receive a refund of 50% of the total program tuition. • Cancellations and transfers made 9 or less days before the first day of the summer day camp will receive no refund or credit. This includes if you do not show up.
